My last Frosted Designs DT post...(and a CSI sneak!!)

Hi everyone!!!

Today is my last post as a Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday DT member!! :( 

I have had an absolutely amazing 6 months with this fantastic team, and am really excited to see all the new fabulous things to come from the new DT!!

Here is this weeks challenge:

Shape it Up x 3 (Pick a geometric shape - circle, square, etc. - and use it 3 times in project)

I went off of the colors from the photo to put my layout together, with the tans and greens and browns. I love these colors together, and really love this layout!

Okay, we have a fabulous challenge for you this week!! Seeing as its Valentine's Day next week, our challenge is to add the word "LOVE" to your layout/card/project!! Frosted Designs DT call!!

Frosted Designs has posted a DT call on their blog here! It is an absolutely fabulous team to be apart of, and they want you!!! :)

Here is a bit from the call:

We are looking for papercrafters of all kinds! If you can make scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art items, home decor items or like mixed media.... we want you!! One of the best things about Frosted Designs (in my opinion) is that we celebrate all kinds of crafters! We are not just a scrapbooking blog or a card blog. We want to let everyone share their skills and with 3 challenges going on all the time, there is something for everyone! We would like to fill some positions on all three of our teams. Let me tell you more about each one....

Fabulous Friday Teams: We have two teams of ladies that make up our Fabulous Friday teams. The focus of this team is to use up supplies you already have laying around the house that may have been neglected and forgotten about. For this team, you should be willing to do any of the following: scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art, home decor and mixed media items!

Sketch Along Tuesday Layout Team: This team makes scrapbook layouts that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

Sketch Along Tuesday Card Team: This team makes cards that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

No matter which team you prefer, the requirments for all of our designers remain the same....

1. Be willing to commit to a six month term. Your term would start the beginning of March and go until the end of August.

2. Create a project every other week for your assigned team.

3. Share a step by step tutorial 2 times during your 6 month term. (This can be with photos or video)

4. You will be required to comment on some of the projects that are entered into our challenge each week.

5. Keep an active blog that is updated frequently.

6. Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the Frosted Designs blog.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge: Paint

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get this up til now!!!

Over at Frosted Designs, the new challenge is to use paint on your layout/card/project! I decided to make up some baseball hat holders for my oldest son.

 

 I had found these plaques on clearance at Hobby Lobby awhile back, and never did anything with them! So, I sanded them down, added a few layers of paint, and then almost made little mini layouts on each one!! One of them is from Spring 2010 and the other is Spring 2011. I love being able to see the difference one year makes!!

I know you all have some paint laying around to use this week!! Head over to Frosted Designs and check it out!

For this project, I used:

Fabulous Friday Challenge: Something New

Hi all!!

Today we have a very fun, yet challenging challenge for you over at Frosted Designs! lol! We are asking you to make a layout/card/project using a product you have never used before OR try a new technique! I decided to combine both of those and make a layout using mists(have some, but NEVER used them before!!) and also masking! I made my own masks with some of my snowflake diecuts...

It was definitely a lot of fun playing with the mist!! I loved the way it looked sooo much, that I didn't want to cover it up with the photos!! But, obviously I did, and I love my layout! :)

I recently came across the Kraft it Up challenge blog site and love it!! I have been doing a lot of scrapping with kraft lately, so plan to play along much more thru the new year! I've decided to enter this layout into their December challenge: Scrap about your Christmas traditions.

I used the December Burlap and Buttercups Kit, again! Loving that kit!! I also added in:

• The Paper Studio kraft paper and black cardstock
• Maya Mist (Raspberry Pink)
• Sizzix, Sizzlets, snowflake
• embroidery floss
• TPS glitter alphas (our)
• Making Memories mini shimmer alphas (tradition)

FD Fabulous Friday DT Layout {Music/Songs}

Today's challenge over at Frosted Designs is to make a layout/card/project that is Music/Songs. This one was a lot of fun for me since my boys both LOVE music!!

Attack of the little brother {Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge: Die Cuts}

Hi everyone!!

I have my layout for todays Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs! This weeks challenge is to use Die Cuts on your layout, card or altered item! I know everyone has some die cuts laying around!! Put yourself a project together and get it entered....(your gonna definitely wanna check it out and see who our awesome sponsor is this week!!!)  ;D

Okay, on to my layout, or well, a 2-pager!! For these photos, a 2 pager was a must!

 

For this layout, I made my own sketches:

My boys have always wrestled around, and had fun. So, this was just another day of being silly! 

On this layout, the journaling spots are die cuts, as well as, the banner, tags, and the tickets.

Here are some detailed shots:

The journaling reads: Jacob has always loved to wrestle, even when he was a baby. On this particular day, he was attacking Daniel with kisses! The evidence is left on Daniel's cheek!

 

 

For this layout, I used a lot of the new Dawson line from Three Bugs in a Rug. Loved this line,  and plan to use up every bit of it!!

My Life, My Love, My Family

Hi everyone!! :D

I have today's Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge layout for you!! Today's challenge is: FAMILY. Create a layout, card or project about family. Loved this challenge simply because I love scrapping about my hubby and 2 boys! You definitely should head over and check it out!! Great challenge and great prize!! :)

These photos were taken this past weekend at my mother-in-law's 50th birthday party. It was a lot of fun, and I was able to pull us away for a few photos ;P

I LOVE anything EchoPark, but really, really love For The Record!! I had bits and pieces of it, but finally purchased the Collection Pack, and am in full swing of using it!! I have also picked up Times and Seasons, so be on the look out for that, lol!
