hello Spring {washi tape card}

Practical Scrappers has a fabulous post up today showcasing washi tape! The design team gives so many different, amazing examples that are going to make you pull out your tape and get scrappin!! :)

I chose to make a card and coordinate my washi tape with some embellishments, buttons.

I love my Bella Designer Tape...the colors are gorgeous! I found some coordinating buttons in my button stash and hand-stitched them on.

I popped up my white cardstock with foam adhesive and attached it to the kraft cardstock base. That's it! Easy peasy! :)

Don't forget to head over and see all the different washi tape projects by the design team...such inspiration there!!

Love - Pinterest inspiration

Hi all!!

I posted at Practical Scrappers today, and I thought I would share it here, too! :)

*******************

So,  I have a question for you....are you addicted to:
 ????
Well, I am!!!
From food to clothes to crafty things...I find myself there almost every day!
While making a new board, CHA favorites and trends, I came across a photo of a wedding cake. It was just too gorgeous and too full of inspiration not to pin!
Here is the image:
 (Pin)
Gorgeous, huh?! I fell in love with the chevrons, and the overall style of this cake.
It was screaming, "Make a layout based on me!!!", lol, so I did ;)
I added chevrons across the layout, did the large cluster above them, and added the bands to the top and bottom of my layout.
I did some layering and added some foam adhesive, but kept it minimal as the chevrons are the focus of the design element of the layout.
I absolutely love how this turned out, and have a feeling that I may have a new board soon that is strictly photo inspiration for layouts! ;)

If interested, my pinterest is on my sidebar! :)
If you all would like me to check out yours, leave it in the comments! ;)

Thanks so much!!

You are my Sunshine {Practical Scrappers 10 things: Buttons}

Every Tuesday at Practical Scrappers is the super fun 10 things post.

Today's 10 things is: Buttons!! :)

I love adding buttons to my layouts. It is usually one of the last things I add on, usually that last "bit of something" needed for my page!

For my layout this week, I decided to go with a button border. Well, a clustered button border:

I went through my buttons and picked out some coordinating buttons for the ever gorgeous Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection!

The girls came up with some fabulous ideas for buttons! You can see the full post

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fab day!! :D

Practical Scrappers: 10 things you can do with...

Embossing Folders!

This weeks feature is all about embossing folders, and wow, did the girls come up with some awesome stuff!!!!

You can see the full post at the Practical Scrappers blog HERE.

For this post, I decided to go with a card.

I decided to use multiple folders on 1 project to give an interesting background. I found some coordinating cardstock, to compliment my selected manufacturer, and used up some scraps!! :)

I just love the Bella Blvd Baby Boy collection! It is so, so cute! I also used one of their bloomers as an accent and tied it on with The Twinery twine in my fave color: Flax.

I love the idea of using up some cardstock scraps, and maintaining my pp sheets. Don't you just hate to cut into a full sheet for just a tiny piece???!!! I know I do!!! ;)

Sweet *Practical Scrappers CMT: Confetti*

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today over at Practical Scrappers, we are showcasing projects with confetti!!

Here is my layout:

I have used MME On the Bright Side 1 for this layout...love this collection (I think I say that about every MME collection, lol). I added one cardstock sticker to the layout (Stella Rose). I made my confetti with a standard hole punch and a 1/2inch circle punch. I have actually used the front cover of the collection kit for my punches...you know the sheet that shows a small portion of the pp?? Yep, I am resourceful!! :P
I also cut the "SO HAPPY" from the cover as well and used it!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don't forget to head over to Practical Scrappers to see what some of the other DT made...awesome, awesome projects!!! :)

Play time {Practical Scrappers and Liz Qualman sketch}

Hello everyone!!

Today's Practical Scrappers: Challenge Me Tuesday was to use polygons with 5+ sides on your project. I know that hexagons/honeycomb is really popular right now, so if you need some inspiration on that and other polygon shapes, head over to Practical Scrappers to see all the fabulous projects!

I decided to go subtle with my hexagons, lol. They are there though, as a small accent embellie...

I have used Liz Qualman's fabulous sketch that she had made for the end of the Practical Scrappers Link with Love Blog Hop! It was such an amazing sketch that I just had to use it!!

I did turn the sketch upside down, and shrunk it just a bit.

Some detailed photos:

I used the on holiday collection from the girls' paperie...love the pp and colors from this line! I took some of the little chipboard hexagon pieces from Pink Paislee's nantucket line, and covered them. I have also used some twine and buttons, as well as Lily Bee Designs ABC alphas.

I hope you enjoyed my layout, and I thank you for stopping by! Don't forget to head over to Practical Scrappers and see all the inspiration from this weeks CMT, and also go see Liz's amazing take on her sketch!!

Practical Scrappers Link with Love Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Practical Scrappers "Linking with Love" Blog Hop!  We believe it is important to always give credit when it is due to another crafter.  For this unique hop all of our design team members used the same inspiration piece to create their project.  Each of them will make an example of themselves as to how to properly "Link with Love" and credit the inspiration.  We'll be running the hop thru Noon EST on Sunday - so you have plenty of time to get thru it!

Liz Qualman created this beautiful layout and we have all used it for inspiration.  Each of us will tell what part we took our inspiration from.  The whole hop will culminate at Liz's blog where she'll provide us with a new sketch for inspiration.

Many of the designers are providing prizes at their stop and Practical Scrappers is providing a prize for one person who becomes a follower at each stop (for all the details head over to Practical Scrappers).

Blog Hop List:
Jenny Evans  <--- *you are here*
Cathy Harper

Hi all!! I am so excited to be apart of this blog hop, and hope you are having a great time jumping and hopping along!! :) You should have arrived her from Ann's BLOG. If you didn't, the blog hop order is listed above...

Isn't Liz's layout amazing?? She has given us so many different things to be inspired by! I picked a number of things from it that inspired me, but let me show you my layout first:

And some detailed photos:

From Liz's layout, I loved the title and theme, bright colors on the white background, her handstitching, all the banners, and her bold layout border/frame. So those are the things I incorporated onto my layout.

Now, remember to follow my blog for your chance to win the RAK from Practical Scrappers!! You have to follow all members to be eligible for the prize.

I am also having a small RAK giveaway on my blog!

All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what inspires YOU from/about Liz's layout. That's it! This is open internationally...all can play along!!  Leave me a comment, and I will announce the winner on Tuesday!

Thanks so much for any comments you may leave, and have fun with the rest of the hop!! Your next stop is at Cathy's BLOG...   :)

(For this layout, I used: MME Limetwist, AC Thickers, Jenni Bowlin chipboard banners, the twinery twine, buttons, gemstones, embroidery floss)

Practical Scrappers Link With Love projects

Hi everyone!!

It has been a talked about subject as of late...Link with Love. If you get inspiration from someone/something...link it back to the original source! Simple as that! Be true to the creator and true to yourself! :)

Practical Scrappers DT has made some amazing projects that were inspired by other sources...you can check it out HERE.

Here is my layout:

I have used the current sketch at Creative Scrappers(197):

And I was so, so, so inspired by the amazingly talented Debbi Tehrani!! She has always been a scrapper that I admired, and knew that I would pick one of her layouts to be inspired by!

You can check out all her amazing work on her blog: HERE

And you can see the specific layout that inspired me: HERE

A note about Debbi...she only ever scraps in 8x8!! Amazing!! I have made my above layout in 8x8, and also took a photo for you all to see how small that really is...to me, it still looks 12x12 when you post it online, but its not!!

Here are some detailed photos:

I am overall inspired by her, but for this particular layout, what inspired me was the colors, how she added the kraft, the machine stitching, and of course, the 8x8.

I really hope you all will remember to link with love on all of your inspired by layouts/cards/projects!!  And also be on the watch for a Practical Scrappers blog hop this weekend!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and any love that you leave!! :)

(For this layout, I used: CP Toy Box pp, EP Dots and Stripes pp, Fancy Pants Be You pp, MME Lost and Found 2 pp and Out of the Blue pp, My Little Shoe Box pp, MME Out of the Blue title die cut, MME Lost and Found 2 label sticker, Maya Road kraft journaling tags and transparency tickets, TH metal tag, K&Co journaling tags, Creative Imaginations cardstock sticker, Cosmo Cricket tiny alphas, AC Thickers Delight, twine, pearls, TPS brads)

Practical Scrappers "love"ly layouts...{CS #194}

*This is my second post for the day...to see my newest layout using the Boys Rule February kit, click HERE*

Practical Scrappers' post today is all about "love"ly layouts. I chose to do a layout about my boys on Valentine's Day from last year...

I used sketch #194 from Creative Scrappers:

And some detailed photos:

I used the Crate Paper Paper Hearts collection kit for this layout. I loved their "Valentine" collection simply because it wasn't all pink and red, lol. I love the pops of blue/greens and the yellows and browns.

I am also loving ScrapFit's current weekend warm-up (#24) to have clustering somewhere on your layout. I think this layout is pretty perfect for that! :)

You should head over to Practical Scrappers to see all the beautiful and fun "love"ly layouts...great inspiration to get your new Valentine's Day pictures scrapped!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a fabulous evening!! :)
