Boys Rule sketch, layout and a card :)

I have a new sketch up at Boys Rule today! :)

I have to say, this is one of my favorites I have made in awhile. Love the versatility in it!

Boys Rule August 31st sketch:

Here is what I did with it:

 Great sketch to use up some scraps! I also used the chalkboard paint for the splatters, and used my last 2 hexagon chipboard pieces.

hello Spring {washi tape card}

Practical Scrappers has a fabulous post up today showcasing washi tape! The design team gives so many different, amazing examples that are going to make you pull out your tape and get scrappin!! :)

I chose to make a card and coordinate my washi tape with some embellishments, buttons. 

 I love my Bella Designer Tape...the colors are gorgeous! I found some coordinating buttons in my button stash and hand-stitched them on.

I popped up my white cardstock with foam adhesive and attached it to the kraft cardstock base. That's it! Easy peasy! :)

I absolutely love these papers from the Sweet Day collection by Echo Park! Such pretty colors and designs! 

Lots of foam adhesive, stitching and layering...my favorite things these days. :)

August kit layout from Boys Rule

Good morning!! :)

I posted last night at Boys Rule, and wanted to share it here, too!! 

My 2 favorite cute, sweet, little men!!:

I used mostly the thickers and the hexagons! Little embellishings so the focus would be on the photo, title and the hex background. Love this layout...wish the photo gave it justice!!! (Don't you hate when it doesn't look as good once uploaded!?!)

Creative Scrappers #221 - me&u

I used the super-cute Hey Day collection from SC. Love it!! :)

I used THIS fabulous mask to add the dimensional hexagons. 

I love these butterflies!! Gorgeous!!

I went with a pp for my polaroid look for my picture. Thought it turned out cute!!

I really, really love this layout!! I had a hard time saying, "okay, it's done", as I usually have more embellies...layers...something!! But, I finally decided it is perfect just like this! I am thinking the color combo has something to do with my <3 for this layout, though. Studio Calico did a-maz-ing with this collection!!

Yay!!!

I finally got my hands on the August 2012 issue of CARDS magazine!!! My first publication!!! :D :D :D

In other news....

my boys started school!!!!!! :(

As of Thursday, I have a 5th grader and a PreK student!!!! Time flies too fast!! :(

I am hoping to get more blogging done, seeing as I have sooooo much time on my hands now!

Boys Rule Kits - 7 yrs (layout)

Hi all!!

I have a Boys Rule layout to share! :D

It is another one featuring my super-handsome son, Daniel, from his 7 year old photo session. 

 I have never been a huge fan of those pre-designed patterned papers. They all seem too "flat" for me (I love my foam adhesive, lol). Well, I actually really liked this paper, but again, too flat. So, I got out my scissors and went to cutting!! I used the polaroid picture frame, the torn ledger, and the journal bit on this layout. I kept them in their same places, but added in some other layers as well.

 I popped up the photo, and of course, added more triangles! ;)

The journal bit had an "A" on it, but since this was a 7 year old photo, i used my hole punch, and punched a "7" from the collection pack front cover. :)
