Practical Scrappers CMT - Banners without Triangles {PageMaps sketch}

Practical Scrappers Challenge Me Tuesday this week was to have a banner without triangles on your layout. Well I love banners, so this was an easy one for me!! :)

I loved the current sketch at PageMaps for the CHAW12 contest...amazing, amazing sketch!!

Some detailed photos:

Love these photos...have so many left to scrap, but these were just the right size and went together so well. Such a sweet boy and big brother!!
I hand cut my clouds and the moon, as well as the banner and the fake tag. Funny that I wasn't a super big fan of the "cloud" phase, but now I am loving them!! May have to do more soon!! lol

You should definitely head over to Practical Scrappers and see all the amazing layouts featuring non triangular banners!!

(I have used my Nov. Burlap and Buttercup kit yet again...LOVE this kit...the papers are just amazing!! Along with it I have added a few things...Kaiser pearls in bliss, Twinery buttercream twine, TPS fabric brads, eyelets and glitter alphas, MME Limetwist sticker, white gel pen.)

Amazing, huh?? And your evidence and testimony prompts are fabulous as well!!

Okay, here is my layout:

I made a sketch for this one as well:

And some detailed photos:

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these colors!! My favorite so far!! For my evidence, I went with a frame, stripes and rhinestones. For testimony, I  went with something unexpected about the photo.

I chose to do a photo of Justin and I from our family photo session back in November. This photo was a complete accident as we were looking at another camera, and this photo just happened to be snapped by my brother-in-law. I love the other photos as well, but we both just really, really loved this one!

Are you still here?? You haven't went to see these gorgeous colors in all their glory?? lol...well here is a link to get you there...go check out the full reveal and the fabulous DT layouts...there could possibly be a new face amongst the detectives!

Thanks so much everyone, and have a fabulous weekend!! :)

more Boys Rule January Winter kit layouts :)

Hi all!! I have the rest of my layouts using the January Winter Kit from Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits!! I have to say...I have loved working with this kit!! Such fabulous papers and embellies!! If you haven't picked one up yet, you still can. There are a few left!! Head over to Boys Rule Kits and pick one up!! :)

First up is my take on sketch2 (January 20th sketch)

And the sketch again:

And some detailed photos:
As you can see, I used a non traditional winter color scheme for this layout, but I love it!! Love the black and green with the pop of teal! The acrylic snowflakes look fabulous and go really well with these colors. I did mat in black again to make everything pop, and turned my photos black and white to add to the layout. I have to say that this is a fave for me!! :)

And my last layout using the January Winter Kit:

and some detailed photos:

I decided to finish off with my favorite paper of the kit...the polka dot!! Love this paper!! I took the dabber paint and painted a snowflake on the paper(used a negative from one of the snowflake stickers). I covered it with some glossy accents to give it a shiny look, as well as some random dots on the paper. I used a base of kraft, and added some Twinery twine to finish it off!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and I hope you all get your January Winter Kits out and get to scrappin!! Remember to enter in the sketch challenges for a chance to win a Boys Rule RAK!! :)

Hello everyone!!

I went in a totally different direction this week...I did a girly page!!! Well, as girly as I can do, lol!! It turned out really light and sweet, and I really love the end result!

Here is my layout:
This is my niece, Arin, just a few hours after she was born...she is so sweet! :)
(Thanks to Debbi for helping me edit my photo...I had a killer time getting this layout to look normal!!)

And some detailed photos:
My journaling reads:
Our sweet little Arin was born on Oct. 1, 2007 in the late afternoon. She was a big, little thing! She is the first girl in the family & we all love her so, so much!
Arin Alyssandra Evans
10-1-07 (just a few hours old in the photo)

For the evidence, I did tags, doily print(on the brown paper, and then an actual doily), gold metallic elements and circular elements.
For the testimony, I did my journaling on a tag, and semi-repetition (repeated "she" alot through the journaling).

The reveal is filled with sooo many different takes on these beautiful colors!! Head over and check it out!!
