Color Combo Challenge 194 entry

Good afternoon!! It's so beautiful out today! I think this weather may hold up so we can have a baseball game this evening! Yea! We have had so much bad weather lately, it seems like forever ago since we got to watch my oldest play!

I have been working on this LO for the past couple of days. Struggled with it, but I really do like how it turned out. I am entering it into the Color Combo Galore Challenge #194:

Here is my layout. It is my oldest son's Spring 2011 3rd grade picture. I am putting a whole scrapbook together of just his school pictures, and this is the most up-to-date one!

I used a stencil sheet and stenciled on the 3's with acrylic paint. I also used the paint and colored the twine to the red, painted the ruler and the accent paper down the side of the pic. I hand stitched around the whole picture, and added glitter to the yellow brackets.
For this LO:

  • MME paper
  • Acrylic paint (Hobby Lobby)
  • Bag O Buttons (The Paper Studio)
  • Spare Parts brads
  • twine from Dollar Tree
  • paper clips from Dollar Tree
  • Glitter shaker glitter from Dollar Tree
  • Cricut Cartridges: Doodlecharms and Lyrical Letters
Hope you enjoy this layout, and have a fabulous rest of the day!!

Much love,
Jenny ♥

Teacher (thank you) card

Hey all!! Hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I spent the morning making a card for my son's teacher. Today was their last day of school (yea!!), and I forgot to make a card this weekend. :(  So, I got to work this morning, and came up with this card. It was actually a lot of fun to make! It went really smoothly. I knew pretty much how I wanted to lay it out, and it came together nicely. His teacher loved it! She was soo amazing this year that we had to throw a GC from Hobby Lobby in the card, too. I wish we could do more, but you could tell her gratitude in her face. Makes me happy to know that it touched her. :)

Anyway, on to the card!!

For this card I used:
  • Cricut Cartridges: Doodlecharms and Don Juan
  • The Paper Studio paper, buttons and brads
  • The Ribbon Boutique ribbon
  • Tim Holtz idea-ology mini paper clips
  • scrap cardstock
I ran across The Paper Variety, and decided to enter this in the current challenge:

I really hope you all like it, and it inspires you to take a little time to thank all the teachers out there you know!!

Much love,
Jenny ♥

one year old smile...my Sketch Along Tuesdays May 17th entry for Frosted Designs!

Happy Saturday evening all!! I have had a great day staying at home playing with my boys, and sneaking in some scrapbooking! I absolutely loved the sketch for this challenge! It was soooo much fun to work on! I tried a few different techniques for this one, and I think I did pretty darn good, lol.

This LO is of my youngest son when we did one year old pictures. He did an amazing job, and I hope to do many more layouts of these pictures. I painted the cardboard with acrylic paint, then took an unused emery board and distressed it, then tore the ends off. I did all the stitching by hand, which was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be! I inked the edges of some of the paper to go with the distressed cardboard. I really like how this turned out, and am looking forward to using these techniques on future LOs.

For this page, I used:
  • My Mind's Eye paper
  • Cardstock from Hobby Lobby
  • Spare Parts embelishments
  • Cricut Cartridges: Lyrical Letters, Heritage, Sentimentals
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy!

Much love,
Jenny ♥

A Birthday Card...

Hello everyone!! I am really hoping to be able to post pretty frequently, so here we go... :)

I have a birthday card that I made for my mom a few weeks back. I just used some scraps (pretty sure all of this came from Hobby Lobby) that I had laying around. I am usually doing boy stuff, so it was really fun and difficult at the same time for me to make something like this! Like I said, all the paper was scraps, the buttons were leftover from other projects, and also the ribbon and tulle. I used Cricut cartridge Heritage for the corner border. I think it turned out really good, and my mom loved it! :)

I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday, and I will talk to you all soon!!

Much love,
Jenny ♥

Hello Blog World!!

I am making my first blog post this evening!! Yea!! It's kind of crazy to think that I am talking to myself right now... Anywho, I have always loved crafting, and dabbed at scrapbooking years ago when my first son was born. I kind of fell out of it until recently. Decided to pick it up again, and am sooo thankful I have!! I hope you enjoy my take on all things scrapbooking! Thanks for coming by and cannot wait to really get the ball rolling!!

Much love,
